Producing a podcast with a team of contributors all with conflicting schedules and demands can be tricky at the best of times. Producing an actual play RPG podcast where those contributors also have to commit to volunteering 5 or 6 hours out of their busy days to record in one go can be nigh-impossible. That’s what the Terrible Warrior podcast has been doing for five years and Justin Ecock has been behind organising over 400 1-hour episodes over hundreds of recording sessions. How do they do it? What tricks have they learned, what compromises have they made? Justin will draw back the curtain and aim to help you out with your own ensemble show. Don’t be surprised if he tries to recruit you though because one of his guest just cancelled at the last minute…

Key Take Aways

  • Scheduling around schedules
  • Recruiting guests (know when to hold them and know when to fold them)
  • Organising strategies for editing a weekly podcast
  • All the mistakes Justin has made over the last five years
  • Probably some Star Trek trivia, he can't help himself
